Which is better in your opinion, showing the monster or hiding him? Do you feel that you would rather let your imagination do most of the work? Which movie did that most effectively?
I love the suspense which most horror movies plot brings to the table. I love it when they hide the monster for a reasonable long time but show its horrors and glimpse of it once in a while before it's revealed full time. It's more creepy that way.
Seeing a movie where they hide the monster can add to the adrenaline and make you feel involved in the movie differently.
As much as I don't like to watch horror movies too often, I do like the adrenaline rush so having the monster hidden away would be my choice.
There was a movie I watched last year though I couldn't remember the name. The monster was hidden and the more I was eager to see it. I forgot about everything that matters in the movie and was looking forward to see the monster. It was creepy at the end when it was shown.
