Heading up to the release of their fourth highly anticipated film in the ‘Purge’ franchise, ‘The First Purge,’ its producers have retained the services of veteren television director Anthony Hemingway to nurture the premiere episode of the new 10-show television season of ‘The Purge.’
While Heminway comes with great horror credentials from directing on such a prestigeous series as ‘American Horror Story’ his equally masterful direction of ‘CSI: New York’ episodes will serve well as the series takes place during the other 364 days of the year people are not supposed to be murdering at will.
Authenticity and tone should be assured since the overall series will be overseen by the director of the first three movies, James DeMonaco. Set to star Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Gabriel Chavarria, and Jessica Garza, ‘The Purge’ will be showing on the SyFy channel about the same time the new movie ‘The First Purge’ is released on July 4th this year.
